The Jail Bird typeface was designed around the traditional Baskerville semibold typeface, It was a starting point to develop a contemporary design.
Baskerville's serif's were important to the development. After taking away the body structure of the typeface, I was left with the small parts of the serif that make individual letters of Jail Bird legible.
